Explore Elon University's School of Health Sciences

The School of Health Sciences develops dedicated and empathetic healthcare professionals who are ready to impact their communities and patients through service and exceptional patient care. Elon's M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies (Elon PA) is a 24-month, full-time program that prepares graduates to think critically and act skillfully to meet expanding healthcare needs in local and global communities. The Doctor of Physical Therapy (Elon DPT) program is a three-year, full-time curriculum that emphasizes a patient-centered approach through forty weeks of hands-on clinical practicums.

Our academic programs are supported by the Anatomical Gift Program, a first-person consent, whole-body donation program that allows students to learn from "silent teachers" in our human donor lab. Our Interprofessional Simulation Center provides disciplinary and interprofessional engaged learning scenarios with actual clients and trained actors from our local community.

We live in mission to advance local and global health equity, serving patients in our community through the Health Outreach Program at Elon (H.O.P.E. Clinic) and the Open-Door Clinic of Alamance County. Students in our PA and DPT programs have the opportunity to develop cultural humility, explore diverse identities, and contribute to global health through Global Learning Opportunities in countries around the world.

The School of Health Sciences is located in the Gerald L. Francis Center, a state-of-the-art teaching and research facility. Faculty, staff, and students in all programs collaborate on innovative research initiatives in thriving, interdisciplinary laboratories.
